Can anyone suggest an all-in-one software solution that manages the logistics of setting up crew schedules and then predicts or models fatigue after the schedule has been generated? I am looking for a software system that will manage all my staff along with their planned leave, the locations I need them to travel to and from, the timing of these trips and then build a schedule for each crew person that is compliant with our industry’s duty and rest regulations and scheduling limits imposed by our collective agreements. I am hoping to find a system that will do all of this and then give me an estimate or prediction of fatigue risk associated with each crew person’s schedule. I have started my search, but it has not been very successful so far.

I was looking for something very similar and I vaguely recalled hearing about these all-in-one solutions about 20 years ago. I am pretty sure there were a few available back then, but when I actually needed to source/buy one, none could be found. We ended up with a very good work around. We use Quintiq to build our crew schedules and then we export the schedules with a couple mouse clicks to FAID Quantum where they are analyzed to provide predicted fatigue risk and fatigue levels. It is by far the best solution out there for our application. I summarized my work on this project in a Scheduling and Fatigue Modeling Software Compatibility Matrix. I will ask the admin team here at FMN to share this matrix with the FMN community.
