Can someone help me out with arguments to counter my shift-workers’ belief that they need less sleep now that they are shift-workers?   The most recent statement I heard was, “I have adapted to less sleep, I am good to go.”

  1. Saying “I have adapted to less sleep”, is like an insomniac saying, “I have adapted to insomnia”…insomniacs do sleep, but they always sleep less than needed and insomniacs rarely enjoy being insomniacs. To read a more comprehensive answer and one that you can actually use, read the article I recently contributed to FMN: https://fatiguemanagersnetwork.org/?p=7094
