I am worried that my employees are fatigued from working so many hours and not sleeping much during this pandemic. I am sure they don’t want to let anyone down and are under reporting fatigue. What can I do to encourage honest reporting?

  1. There are a number of reasons why people may or may not honestly report fatigue. These range from not wanting to let the team down to being afraid of being blamed for the fatigue. One way to encourage fatigue reporting is to ensure that the process feels pleasant. This is positive reinforcement. It is like a little mini-reward for reporting and it increases the likelihood that people will report again. If the reporting process feels unpleasant, people will be much less likely to continue to report.
